Moline, IL. March 14th 2016 –Geneseo Communications Charitable Foundation awards $3,000 to Honor Flight of the Quad Cities
As part of its commitment to enrich the lives of the people we serve, Geneseo Communications Charitable Foundation recently announced that it will donate $3,000 to Honor Flight of the Quad Cities Program.
The Quad City Honor Flight program was established in 2008 with the purpose of honoring veterans by helping these heroes travel to Washington, DC where they can visit our nation’s war memorials absolutely free. In order to fund their mission this program seeks the support of area organizations.
Geneseo Communications recognizes and salutes those who have fought to preserve our freedom. “We are pleased to be a part of this effort, said Tim Mandell, Chief Marketing Officer and Vice President of Sales for Geneseo Communications. We are dedicated to enhancing the lives of Quad City residents which is exhibited in our efforts to deliver high-speed fiber-optic service to homes and businesses located within the Quad City metro area. Our liberty to do so is a direct result of the dedication of our veterans. We are proud to be a part of this effort which allows us to say THANKS, and honor those that have gifted us with the freedoms we enjoy!
Geneseo Communications, Inc. is a 110 year old technology company headquartered in Geneseo, Illinois. Geneseo Communications owns and operates Colohub, The Quad Cities only Tier III, SSAE 16 Certified data center. The company recently expanded its high-speed fiber-optic operation into the Quad City area answering residents demand for better broadband service on both the Iowa and Illinois sides of the river. More than 2,000 residents voted to receive fiber in their neighborhood via the company’s FiberMeQC contest. Currently the company is deploying fiber within the subdivisions of Deer Brook and Deer Ridge in Bettendorf as well as McClellan Heights and the Historic District of Rock Island with more areas planned.
The Geneseo Communication Charitable Foundation was established in 2002 by Geneseo Communications, Inc. to enhance, develop and benefit the Geneseo community and surrounding areas. Geneseo Communication Charitable Foundation grant applications can be found here and can be submitted at any time throughout the year. Applications are reviewed quarterly and all 501(c) 3 organizations that reside within Geneseo Communications servicing area are encouraged to apply.
