Geneseo Communications Charitable Foundation recently announced it will donate $4,500 to the Geneseo Aisle of Flags for expansion of a new ‘mini’ flag display located near the band shelter within the Geneseo City Park.
“The Geneseo Aisle of Flags was started nearly 35 years ago as a community salute to the men and women of Geneseo who served our country,” said Judy DeBoever, Aisle of Flags Committee President. “Over the years we have received numerous request for the flags to be on display for special events held at the park; due to our by-laws, insurance and man-power we have reluctantly declined. Thanks to the generous support of Geneseo Communications Charitable Foundation, our vision to serve these request through a ‘mini’ flag-display has become a reality. This display will consist of 20 flags placed just to the North of the main band shelter. These flags will not contain a personal name plate and any organization within our community may request the flags for display during their event. We are thrilled to have them which expands our opportunity of pay tribute more often to the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave!”
