As part of its commitment to give back to the community, Geneseo Communications Charitable Foundation recently announced that it will donate $5,000 to Hillcrest Home of Geneseo for the purchase of new therapy equipment.
“We are extremely grateful to Geneseo Communications Charitable Foundation,” said Lorna Brown, Administrator of Hillcrest Home, Geneseo. “Through their support we purchased our first SciFit stepper in 2016. This machine provides exercise access for residents both in and out of wheelchairs and has helped to further promote ongoing health and fitness. Many of the residents who have used the machine have shown marked improvement in both strength and mobility. So much so many are motivated to continue their fitness routine and as a result we typically have a line waiting to use it. With the support of Geneseo Communications Charitable Foundation we are now able to purchase a second machine. Two machines will help better meet the needs of our residents and further enhance our therapy and rehabilitation services in both our skilled and long-term care units.”
